*Note* reporting from an anxious first time mum with a koala baby! Never thought we would be here today but thanks to Chris’s help, we have an 8 month old baby who completely self settles from awake, sleeps well, eats well and most importantly is happier and healthier (as are mum and dad). We stuck to his guidance to the letter; it’s extremely testing and requires patience and consistency. But if you have the will power believe me you will reap the rewards at the end. It’s important to know there’s up and downs through the journey… don’t give up! We recommend the £200 package- send in your 4 day diary and follow up with the hour consultation. Chris will write you a plan tailored to you and your baby (which involves gentle sleep training for anyone who is anxious about the ‘cry it out’ method). Follow as instructed and voila you have a happier household. As Chris advised us, don’t wait get on top of it now. Can’t recommend enough thank you so much Chris.

We contacted Chris when we were looking for help with our 6 month old’s sleep, having got stuck in some bad habits following the 4-month sleep regression. We were particularly looking for a sleep consultant who had experience supporting a child with reflux as this added to the complexities, and our desire for a gentle yet effective approach. Chris’ straightforward approach helped us to hold ourselves accountable and we trusted his process - within a couple of nights our daughter’s sleep was beginning to transform, and we were getting our evenings back and some predictability and structure to our days! The 1-2-1 package meant we could check in with Chris for any questions big or small, and he gave us the encouragement we needed to continue with each ‘stage’. We’re now 6 weeks on and life couldn’t be more different! Working with Chris has been a life-changing experience for us. Our 13 months old had never slept well with the situation deteriorating to her waking up every 1.5 hours, and only going back to sleep when being carried, sometimes for hours. We were on the brink of break-down, nothing seemed to help, whatever we tried. So we tried Chris.. After the insightful kick-off and a clear plan, Chris provided us with ongoing, real time WhatsApp support for any questions we had. He was always available, his texts were tailored to our daughter, giving advice and support for every situation we encountered. It was crucial to us that the approach would not be any type of "cry it out“ sleep training. Chris' method puts the baby’s well-being first and that was paramount to us. The effect was simply amazing. From the first night our daughter's night sleep improved significantly and kept getting better. After 4 weeks she is sleeping 10-11 hours at night, something we would have never believed possible. We are not sleep-deprived anymore and also our baby-girl is way more relaxed and in better mood overall, even catching-up on some development steps she had been late with. We are from Germany and found it very easy to manage the language barrier, Chris was also very helpful and patient here. Chris has literally changed our lives. In just 3 weeks, my 6 month old has gone from waking up every 1-2 hours, short napping, feeding little and often to sleeping 7pm-7am in her own room, regularly napping during the day, feeding 4/5 times a day and is such a happier baby. My partner and I approached The Mummy and Daddy Sleep Consultant after struggling with night wakings from our 18-month-old. He would wake consistently most nights and be awake for up to 2 hours at a time before going back to sleep. Often, we would resort to bringing him into bed with us as he we would settle quicker. We had an initial consultation with Chris and found him very personable, understanding and we were hopeful he would be able to help our situation. We also liked the fact he didn’t use any ‘Cry it out’ method and we thought the ‘Comfort through change approach’ would work best for us. It did!! After following the plan, our son now sleeps consistently through the night and when he does wake, settles himself back down quite quickly. We would highly recommend anyone in a similar situation to use them. Our only regret is not contacting them sooner.

We were having to stay in our 2yo's room until she went to sleep for up to an hour before creeping out (sometimes unsuccessfully) and we thought it was going to be an absolute nightmare to get out of it so we decided to get 1-2-1 support from Chris. Friends were able to put their kids in the cot and just walk out and we felt like that was a million miles away for us. But! With Chris's help we could not believe that only a few nights in and we were doing exactly that! We didn't realise she was in a sleep deficit so needed an earlier bedtime which really helped with not also battling overtiredness and we followed his strict instructions and we have been putting her in the cot, walking out and shutting the door and that's it until the morning!! We still can't believe we're writing this after so long of not being able to get out of staying in the room and are so grateful for Chris's expert knowledge and support. Chris has been absolutely amazing and has changed our lives. I had deliberated for ages about whether to purchase the one to one plan with the 3 weeks support and I am so glad I did. My daughter (15 months old), didn't have a problem self settling to sleep at bedtime, but she was waking up on a regular basis in the night and sometimes staying awake for hours. Chris analysed my daughters day and night schedule in detail and was able to pin point the issues and talk us through the resettling methods. After 4 nights of persisting with his methods, she was sleeping 11-12 hours consistently. Chris is quick to respond to messages and is very supportive. Dani has been great! Really informative, helpful and has provided us with clear directions and instructions. Before the sleep consult we weren’t sure which approach to take and therefore ended up doing nothing very successfully! But with Dani’s help in the space of three weeks we have gone from contact napping all night/constantly nursing, to a baby that sleeps 8pm-8am with only one nighttime feed! Would highly recommend!

Our wee one slept on me for all naps and night time after refusing his bassinet and after 6+ months we were both ready for a change but didn't know how to go about it. I chose TMDSC because I didn't want to do any CIO, liked their vibe and to be honest I needed my hand held! We did 1:1 and honestly it was the best money I've spent and has totally changed our lives. I can now put the wee one down in his cot and leave and he sleeps 10-11 hours a night with no wake ups. It was truly mad how fast he adapted and the best thing about their method is you're with your baby the whole time comforting them. Naps have been harder but that's where having Chris on hand on whatsapp really came into its own. I am highly strung and anxious and having someone to check in with and ask a billion questions really helped me. It still boggles my mind that right now, my wee one is asleep in his cot while I sit here by myself writing this review! Honestly could not recommend them more 🙂

One of the country’s leading infant sleep consultants, we are a family-owned business helping families get the sleep they all deserve.

We started this after seeking help to get our own child to sleep. After 6 months of no sleep, things had taken its toll and we weren’t happy. We weren’t happy as parents; we weren’t happy as a couple; we just weren’t happy full stop. We were putting on these brave faces for our child and for others, but the reality was that we were broken. 

Seeking help from a sleep consultant was the single most impactful decision we’ve made as parents. We suddenly had a sleeping child, who was happier and healthier. We also became the parents we always thought we would be,: happy, patient and calm.

This led us becoming sleep consultants ourselves, and then more recently, onto training sleep consultants via The Sleep Consultant Academy.

Dani has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology covering infant development and Chris, born in Donegal, is the first qualified male infant sleep consultant in the UK & Ireland. What does a children's sleep consultant actually do?

A good sleep consultant will change your life – it’s as simple as that. They will identify what changes you need to make to your child’s routine, give you the right plan to help your child self-settle and be responsive to any changes that are required during the support period.

How do you sleep train a baby?

There are many different ways to sleep train a baby. We focus on a much more gentle approach with our methods and if you are thinking about doing it without a sleep consultant supporting you one-one-one, we would highly recommend our online course. It will give you the structure to achieve what you want, in a more gentle way, in around 10 to 14 days.

Do you use Crying It Out or the Ferber Method?

No, we do not use these methods or any other methods where you leave your child to cry on their own to sleep. We always follow a gentle method of sleep training.

Which SLEEP TRAINING method do you use?

We use a mix of different sleep training methods which all involve a gentle approach.

What is gentle sleep training?

Gentle sleep training is where you are generally with your baby providing support during the change you are making to their ability to settle to sleep. Non-gentle approaches include the Crying It Out or Ferber Methods, neither of which we use in our online courses or 1:1 programmes.

when should you start sleep training a baby?

We begin our programmes from 5 months. Many sleep consultants do it from 6 months for two reasons: 1. The baby will have started weaning and they believe that no night feeds are then required; and 2. Babies can be left independently from 6 months according to The Lullably Trust and many sleep consultants use Crying It Out or Controlled Crying methods where the baby will be left on their own.

We start from 5 months as we do not believe that night feeds should be stopped at 6 months and believe this should be a baby-led decision. Also, with our gentle approach, you don’t need to leave your baby to help them self-settle.

Do you sleep train toddlers? Or just babies?

We work with up to 4 year olds, though have also worked with 5 and 6 year olds in the past, depending on the issue. Whilst toddlers can be a little more difficult to change because they are often in their own bed and can leave it, the increased communication and language they have can offset that challenge. Never think your child is too old to change their sleep habits. Our 2-4 year online course or our 1:1 coaching programmes can help you change something you probably think is impossible.

How long does your sleep training programmes take to work?

The timeframe is different for every baby but we usually see changes in the babies we work with in as little as 5-7 nights. From starting to having a baby who self-settles, sleeps most of the night and has good naps is usually around 2 weeks.

Can you guarantee it will work for my child?

Whilst there is never any guarantee, we firmly believe that if you work with us one-on-one or buy our online course, commit to our approach and principles and be consistent with the guidance, you will see the improvements that your whole family needs. Our Google reviews are testament of this.
